OK, I'm 14 and I still don't technically know how to swim.
When I swim, in shallow areas, I can swim horizontally just fine, kind of slow, I can do that.
But when I try to get to the deep part, once my toes can feel the ground, I begin to panic and kick. Feels like ur sinking.
The kicking doesn't really work and I call for help LOL
Is what I need to learn is how to tread water?
And when you get to the bottom of a pool, do you do to get to the top?How do you swim? Advice?
Panicking is the worst thing you can do. If you ever feel like you are sinking, just calm down, ly on your back in a starfish flat and when you are ready, make your way slowly back to slallow water.
Treading water, yes, is probalby the best thing you can do. Not only will it give you the confidence that you know how to stay out of the water when you are over your head, but it also makes it easier to swim in gernneral. The EGG BEATER is the easiest way to tread water. I猫s easy to do too. Just float as if you were sitting in a chair and turn your legs in opposit directions. If you manage to sink to the bottom of the pool, just push off ofthe bottom. You猫ll rise fast and be at the surface in one thierd of the time it took you to get down there. The other thingis, it猫s impossible to sink ALL THE WAY to the bottom. You can only sink 3-5 feet before the air in your lungs makes you float. Just kick upwards and you猫rll be fine.
By the way, you should not be in water that is five feet deaper that you are if you can not tred water.
overall, don猫t worry, swimming will come naturally as long as you are not scared to do it. watch that clip at learn to tread, and you won猫t ever have to worry aboutsinking.

well first of all you don't want to freak out b/c that definitely won't help. easiest thing is to just take swimming lessons which isn't too bad cuz they are fun haha for treading water you want to make sure that your calm other wise it isn't going to work. then you want to move your arms so its like your spreading peanut butter (thats wut my teacher always told me to imagine) and then your legs go in circles like egg beaters (that description was form my swim teacher too lol). but swimming is fun, ive been doing it since i was 5 and i love it. you should take lessons. once you get the hang of it, you'll love it. good luck! :)
i recommend lessons as well, but for now, you could try to just float on your back whenever you get scared. then you can kick your legs a bit and ';spread peanut butter'; as mentioned above while on your back.
staying calm is the most important thing, try to relax when youre in the water.
