When you buy an LCD monitor you have to consider the following:
1. Are you a normal computer user ?
2. Are you a person who likes to play games ?
If you are a #1 don't worry too much about specifications, get an inexpensive one and you'll love it.
If you are a # 2 Gamer, you are going to want to make sure the 'response time' in milliseconds is low, otherwise you'll going to see ghosting where the image on your screen doesn't keep up with the image coming from the video card.
5ms or less for response time will probably do you do if you are a Gamer.

Definitely a 19'; TFT. I don't think the make matters much. Shop round for a good price. Mine is an Optron had it a year and all very good.
