Can you please give me advice on how I can teach taste to year 1 children?

Bring in lots of different foods, e.g., some sweet foods, salty foods, sour foods and spicy foods (nothing too spicy though, spicy food shouldn't be given to 5 years old children in large quantities).

If you give the children, for example, Indian sweets, which are very sweet, be sure to give them a VERY small piece.

Once a child in one of my classes I was training with ended up being sick as she'd ate far too much of a very sweet sweet. Can you please give me advice on how I can teach taste to year 1 children?
Teaching taste is an over time thing. you are wise starting out that young, at that age they are open to many different tastes. Most parents go the easy way, bland foods and whatever the child will eat.

I would suggest to start slow and do not go spicy hot, try sweets and salty first this way you get the attention for the taste.

My husband and I started the children (we have 2) in the kitchen with us as we cooked. This helped because the children saw what was being prepared. We also changed up the menu adding different foods, and placed the rule that if it was new they had to try it, if they did not like it then they did not have to eat it. We have found that now that the children are older (12 and 10) they are more app to try something different either at home or outside.

So good luck, just so that you know, when we pick restaurants now, anything is opened for us, not just hamburgers and pizza. Can you please give me advice on how I can teach taste to year 1 children?
Ask them to bring in their favorit thing and then to say what it tastes of and why they like it, ask what they don't like and why, what does it taste like
Get foods of differing qualities eg, sweet, sour, salty and get them to place it on different parts of their tongue if possible and they will see how they effect different taste buds.
Bring in some bread, or crisps, or something to eat (vegetarian). Tell them to eat it and explain why they can taste and how.
