Did anyone do a wax seal? Any advice you want to give me?

I am doing it on the inner envelope. Any advice or things I should do? I know I will have to practice it a few times on scrap paper but I thought I ask incase someone had found an easy way to do it or how to avoid any problems.

Thanks!!Did anyone do a wax seal? Any advice you want to give me?
i did!!!

i put it on the inside envelope too.

definitly make sure you practice a few times before you start. make sure you have the letter or whatever your using as the seal pointing the correct direction. i took a black marker and put a dot on the sealer, so i would know which way the T should face.

also when your lighting the wick on the wax, blow it out between each envelope to avoid unnecessary drips, also dont hold the flame on one spot for too long, you dont want to have any burnt wax. your sealer should come with instructions on how many drops of wax per seal.Did anyone do a wax seal? Take your time. Thats the key. Drop some of the sealing wax on the paper (test it out to see how much is too much/too little) and then count to 5 and push down into the wax with the seal. Make sure to pull your hand straight up and away from the paper to save the design you will be using. Also buy more wax than you think you are going to need, you wont get too many out of one stick (5 or 6 if done right). Good luck and congrats on the upcomming wedding.
Wear socks and shoes when you do it. When we did this, some of the wax fell on the top of my foot and I had a burn scar for years afterwards. Its burns and hurts, so be careful!!!
A wax seal on a note/letter is a classic way to add a little something special to your important announcement.

It is relatively simple to do, I have found the easiest way is to just pick a candle of your choice, light it, wait until the wax is melted a bit, and then carefully drip about 4 or 5 drips on the area. Then, take the stamp/symbol of your choice and stamp it in the wax quickly. Good luck and I hope they turn out great!
I did it. I bought the wax and the seal at Michael's. It took a LOT of tries to get it down. Keep turning the stick of wax on the flame so it doesn't drip but still gets hot enough for wax to come out. Only once it looks like it can't be stopped for dripping, drip it onto the envelope and then smear it around in a circle (but still thick enough). Then use the metal seal. The wax I got had a rope middle, so cut that off as you go. If you leave it on, it makes it harder to smear the wax. Luckily, the wax will peel off if you mess up, so as long as you don't get it everywhere, you can try it again.

Whatever you do, don't buy the kind that you can put in a hot glue gun. It looked ridiculous.
The only thing I really discovered about it was that it's a gigantic pain in the butt. However, I thought it looked really cool. Just follow the directions on the seal %26amp; wax, and make sure you have a napkin or paper towel handy with some cooking oil or spray or something, or your seal will stick.
my sister in law was gonna do it but it became to messy and difficult for her so she didn't. Cant offer any help to ya but practicing is a great idea - have your bridesmaids over for some wine and sealing envelopes! Congrats on the wedding!
Huh?
Geeezz, don't sweat it just do it. It's no big deal.**
